Job summary

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is hiring a Special Education Assistant at Mat-Su Day School. This .875 FTE position supports SPED instructors, helps implement IEPs, and provides individual and small-group instruction with student care as needed.

Duties include data entry, materials prep, and coordinating with staff on conferences and student activities. Requires Alaska driver’s license and paraprofessional credentials.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to support IEP implementation.
• Experience in assisting students in small groups or one-on-one.
• Ability to provide routine classroom support and student care.

Responsibilities

• Enter IEP data into computer systems and print files daily.
• Prepare materials, locate supplies, and organize classroom spaces.
• Provide attendant care and monitor student safety throughout the day.
• Assist with grading, attendance, and screening procedures for SPED students.
• Support scheduling conferences and parent meetings as needed.
• May provide transportation or accompany students to activities.
