Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to students with disabilities. The role includes assisting with daily activities, reinforcing classroom material, and working closely with the Special Education Teacher.

The successful candidate will need to meet federally qualified paraprofessional criteria and possess CPR and First Aid certification. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday and includes benefits.

Qualifications

• Eligible to meet Federally Qualified paraprofessional criteria.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Willingness to perform various job-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one supervision for students with intensive needs.
• Assist students with physical tasks and daily routines.
• Work under the direction of the Special Education Teacher.

Skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Knowledge of school-age children's behavior

CPR and First Aid Certification

Education

2-year degree or 48 college credits

Valid Alaska Driver's license
