Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking an Elementary School Aide for the Special Education Functional Living and School Health Services (FLaSH) program. The role provides direct support to students with disabilities across classrooms, hallways, and health-related tasks while assisting in implementing IEP goals under teacher guidance.

The position emphasizes safety, student engagement, data collection on targets, personal care support, and use of assistive technology.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 48 college hours or passing score on the Para Professional Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test.
Texas Educational Aide Certification preferred or required to obtain once hired.
De-Escalation/Restraint Certification preferred or required to obtain once hired.

Responsibilities

Interact with students in a variety of settings to ensure safety and engagement.
Assist with classroom management and supervise students at all times.
Implement behavioral strategies per ARD documents; use restraint when necessary to keep students safe.
Deliver academic/functional lessons under teacher guidance in various settings.
Collect data on IEP targets and behavior in collaboration with the teacher.
Assist with personal care services and use adaptive equipment as recommended.
