Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and 48 semester hours of credit from a four-year college/university or an associate degree from an accredited institution, or
  • Passed the WorkKeys Test as mandated by the Alabama State Department of Education
  • Must meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in instruction under the supervision of a certified special education teacher.
  • Work with small groups to reinforce and re-teach material.
  • Assist individual students needing extra attention and support identified by the teacher.
