Job summary

Dodge County Schools is seeking a Special Education Professional to assist in-person instruction and classroom management. You will support teachers, supervise students, and help provide targeted remediation and interventions within a collaborative, on-site learning environment.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work with diverse learners, and adherence to safety standards while assisting with daily lesson materials and student progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in any subject completed at an accredited institution OR Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or more) OR High School Diploma or GED with passing GACE Paraprofessional tests.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to teachers with in-person instruction, classroom organization, management and instructional strategies.
• Attends classroom sessions and redirects students who are off task and supports students who need remediation or intervention.
• Works with small groups or individual students in-person to practice skills and ensure benefits from tasks.
• Assists teachers with checking in on students who have not accessed resources or completed assignments.
• Communicates with teachers about student issues and parent conversations.
• Responds to emails and calls from school leaders and teachers in a timely manner.
• Assists during standardized testing to support state and local processes and policies.
• Assists with preparation of daily lesson plan materials and copies for students.
• Supports distribution of food, supplies, materials and equipment.
• Assists with grading and providing student feedback.
