Job summary

Coweta County School System is seeking a paraprofessional to support the special education classroom teacher in implementing instructional programs and assisting in groups and individuals as scheduled.

The position involves materials preparation, student supervision, data collection for progress reviews, and strict confidentiality. Requires paraprofessional certification or equivalent coursework; district trainings will be provided.

Qualifications

• Qualify for Paraprofessional Certificate by either holding an Associate's Degree or higher or 90 college quarter hours/60 semester hours, or pass the assessment test for paraprofessionals (GACE).
• Experience working with and directing the activities of children.
• Ability to organize and direct small and large groups of children in a variety of activities and settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional programs and follow teacher directions.
• Provide supervision and enforce classroom rules to maintain order.
• Collect and organize student data for review and progress tracking.
• Participate in staff meetings and required district trainings and confidentiality requirements.
