Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional/IA to assist teachers in a diverse classroom with special education students. You will provide materials, supervise activities, and help with individual or small group projects.

Under supervision, you will monitor safety, support lesson planning, and communicate with parents about progress and concerns. This position is full/part-time with daily tasks in Glendale, AZ.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required prior to hire.
• CPR certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain AZ IVP FPCC.
• Six months experience with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with special education students individually or in groups on projects and skills.
• Assists with feeding, toileting, activities, and behavior management.
• Monitors safety on the playground and cafeteria and enforces rules.
• Prepares classrooms, materials, and distributes handouts for lessons.
• Communicates progress and concerns with parents and teachers.
• Assists teachers in planning and coordinating lesson plans.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
