Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools is seeking an Aide II/III/IV, Autism Mentor, or Paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year at Kanawha City Elementary. The aide assists teachers, works with students in small groups or one-to-one, and supports instruction and behavior management.

Responsibilities include supervising bus passengers, assisting with classroom materials, conducting learning activities, and following KCS policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent as required by WV Code §18A-2-5.
• State-approved competency test as required by WV Code §18A-4-8e.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect support to teachers and students in the classroom.
• Provide individual or small-group instruction to reinforce classroom skills.
• Assist with supervision of students including bus passengers and in various school locations.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials.
