Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools is seeking an Aide II–IV, Autism Mentor and Paraprofessional to assist teachers, work with students in small groups or one-on-one, and supervise bus passengers to ensure safety in school settings.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a background check, and the ability to implement instruction under supervision. Training in CPR/First Aid and related competencies may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Meet WV code qualifications for paraprofessionals.
• CPR/First Aid and other trainings may be required.
• Ability to supervise and assist students under teacher guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction and classroom activities.
• Provide small-group or one-on-one student support.
• Supervise student bus passengers and ensure safety.
• Prepare materials and assist with lesson delivery.
• Follow KCS policies and safety procedures.
