Faribault Public Schools seeks a Special Education ABS, DCD, or ASD Setting III long-term substitute teacher for Jefferson Elementary School. The assignment begins around 1/15/27 and runs through 4/8/27, with a full-time schedule and collaborative support from the elementary special education team.

The candidate will have Minnesota licensure in Elementary Education and ABS/DCD/ASD, and will work closely with teachers to implement behavior support plans and ensure inclusive instruction for

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary special education students with academic and behavior challenges.
• Knowledge of MN ABS, DCD or ASD criteria and evaluation processes.
• Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Ability to work in a team and willingness to be trained in de-escalation techniques.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English; math, reading and English strengths are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ABS, DCD or ASD setting instruction as a long-term substitute.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement individualized plans.

Job Description

Full-time (1.0) ABS, DCD or ASD Setting III long term substitute teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. This position commences on approximately 1/15/27 and goes until 4/8/27.

Qualifications

Experience working with Elementary school aged Special Education students with academic and behavior challenges; knowledge of due process forms and procedures required; knowledge of MN ABS, DCD or ASD criteria and the evaluation process including Functional Behavior Assessments; understanding the use of Positive Behavior Supports; knowledge of how to write a Behavior Intervention Plan; ability to work in a team; training or willingness to be trained in de-escalation techniques; excellent oral and written communication skills; highly qualified in math, reading and English preferred. Must be able to direct the work of professionals. All candidates will be considered.

Licensure

Licensure by the State of Minnesota in Elementary Education as well as licensure by the state of Minnesota in ABS, DCD or ASD; multiple licensure preferred.
