Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a paraprofessional for a school setting with a 6.25-hour day (9:00a–3:45p, 30 min lunch) and pay between $16.65 and $21.39 per hour. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain an Educational Aide Permit; lifting up to 75 pounds and operating assistive devices may be required.

Qualifying candidates should be able to use a computer, stay organized, and work cooperatively with staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of child care or aide certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit.
• Able to use a computer and maintain records.
• Good organization and clerical skills.
• Punctual and reliable with the ability to work with others.
• Confidentiality and appropriate conduct in a school setting.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and operate assistive devices as needed.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid training required or to be completed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of child care or aide certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
• Able to use a computer.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to work co-operatively with other personnel.
• Ability to perform clerical skills including, but not limited to filing, copying, and record keeping.
• Must be punctual.
• A working knowledge of devices and equipment commonly used in public schools.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to successfully complete CPR/First Aid training.
• Ability to work with a variety of student disabilities.
• Ability to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.
• Experience working with children with emotional and physical disabilities preferred.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to operate wheelchairs and other mechanical devices designed to aid the student with a disability; or possess the ability to learn.
• Ability to communicate clearly and articulately.
• Validation of qualifications as determined by interview.
• Other relevant criteria determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or designee.
• Ability to attend Restraint training per ORC.
