Job summary

Educational Service Center of Central Ohio is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year to support students with disabilities in central Ohio classrooms, including districts such as South Western City School District and Reynoldsburg City Schools.

The role focuses on classroom assistance, IEP support, data collection, and implementing behavior plans under the Intervention Specialist, with responsibilities to maintain confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Documentation of a clear criminal record.
• Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Ability to support the needs of students with disabilities.
• Must complete state and Center training requirements (e.g., CPI, communicable disease).
• Preschool assignments require 30 hours of Ohio-approved professional development every two years.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in completing classroom activities and routines, including IEP services and behavior plans.
• Prepare classroom materials, displays, and accommodations; sanitize equipment; maintain an orderly classroom.
• Support students in general education classes and provide needed assistance per IEP.
• Assist with instructional technology and mobility needs; seek professional growth opportunities.
• Maintain safe, positive learning environments; ensure student care and supervision.
• Follow medical plans and assist with personal hygiene as trained by health professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies (HIPAA, FERPA) and code of conduct.
• Adhere to ethical standards, professionalism, attendance, and reliability.
• Adapt to travel, extended hours, student behaviors, and transport using agency vans.
