Wadsworth City Schools is hiring a Special Ed Student Attendant for Valley View Elementary School in Wadsworth, Ohio. The role supports students with disabilities during a 6.25-hour school day and 184 instructional days, with a pay rate of $16.65–$21.39 per hour.

  • Two years of child care or aide certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.

  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to work co-operatively with other personnel.
  • Ability to perform clerical skills including filing, copying, and record keeping.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Working knowledge of devices and equipment used in public schools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to complete CPR/First Aid training.
  • Ability to work with a variety of student disabilities.
  • Ability to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.
  • Experience working with children with emotional and physical disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to operate wheelchairs and related devices; or learn.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and articulately.
  • Validation of qualifications as determined by interview.
  • Other criteria determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or designee.
  • Ability to attend Restraint training per ORC.
