Family of Kidz in New York seeks a Special Educator Resource Room to provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals across Nassau County schools. The role offers part-time with potential for full-time, or fee-for-service; hours typically during school days, with compensation at $60 per hour.

You will develop individualized lesson plans, adapt materials for diverse learners, participate in IEP/CSE meetings, and collaborate with general education teachers and families.

Qualifications

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in settings supporting children and families.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• IEP collaboration experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
