Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator for Resource Room roles in Nassau County, NY. The position supports students with IEP goals through direct, small-group instruction and individualized planning in a school-based setting.

Responsibilities include developing plans, adapting materials, tracking progress, and collaborating with teachers and families. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available; compensation is $60/hour, with rates determined by caseload and credentials.

Qualifikationen

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 ( NYS SWD All Grades or Permanent Preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in settings focusing on supporting children and their families preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
• Review, understand, and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect ongoing progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain accurate session notes and submit documentation within required timelines.
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers regarding student needs, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families, school administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
