Job summary

Qualifications

• AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
• CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of employment or upon hire
• Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention (preferred)
• Experience with school-aged children (preferred)
• Experience with children with various learning and physical disabilities (preferred)
• Special training in adaptive equipment may be required upon hire
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with instructions, materials, and classroom setup
• Provide services in regular classrooms, ESL, or special education settings as needed
• Supervise in playground, lunchroom, lavatory, bus area, and transportation duties
• Assist and accompany students for inclusion in regular classrooms
• Assist with personal hygiene and feeding as needed
• Assist in administering District and State tests
• Document student progress and modify lessons for individual needs
• Organize and maintain teaching materials and learning centers
• Move about to ensure safety and order at duty stations
• Attend classes and trainings to stay current with district needs
