Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with developmental and learning differences, help teachers in the classroom, and promote academic and social growth. You will assist in implementing lesson plans and observe student progress to guide outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma, strong communication and teamwork skills, and comfort with basic computer tools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Passion for supporting students with learning, emotional, or behavioral differences.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and encouraging in all situations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Basic computer proficiency with Word, Excel, or Google Docs.

Responsibilities

Support students with academics, social interactions, and daily living skills.
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
Observe, document, and report student progress and behavior.
Reinforce individualized education and behavior support plans.
Use positive behavior strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, supportive classroom.
