Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff.
• Experience in public school or community setting with students with moderate disabilities preferred.
• First Aid/ CPR card preferred.
• Pre-employment physical required.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in planning and implementing instructional activities.
• Implement strategies to promote student skill development and independence.
• Collect data and provide feedback on student performance and progress.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with students.
• Support in meeting physical needs of students as directed.
• Monitor classroom management according to district procedures.
• Assist in implementing behavior support plans.
• Supervise students in school and community settings for safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students and staff.
• Prepare and organize materials to support teaching and learning.
• Be a cooperative and supportive member of the staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
