Job summary

Lane Education Service District in Eugene, Oregon, is seeking a Teacher, At-Large to provide short- and long-term substitute support within the Life Skills Education Program and related special education settings.

The role requires an Oregon SPED license or eligibility, strong communication, and experience with behaviorally focused programs, with full-time hours and a salary scheduled per district guidelines.

Qualifications

• A valid Oregon SPED license or ability to obtain is required.
• Knowledge of federal and state special education requirements and best practices.
• Experience in behaviorally focused special education programs.
• Experience serving students with cognitive disabilities and emotional/behavior disorders preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish measurable instructional goals.
• Plan and present coherent instruction tailored to each student.
• Create a respectful classroom culture and manage student behavior.
• Implement behavior support plans as needed.
• Frequently assess student performance and maintain records.
• Communicate with students, families, and team members about progress.
• Coordinate with external agencies as needed.
• Provide short-term substitute support in Life Skills and Emotional/Behavior Disorder programs.
• Attend district staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
