Job summary

Aspiring to support students with disabilities, Aspire Public Schools seeks an Instructional Aide to assist in classrooms and work closely with Special Education staff. This role emphasizes implementing IEPs, providing targeted supports, and ensuring health-related and mobility assistance under supervision.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles.
• Familiarity with students that demonstrate moderate-severe needs.
• Ability to implement students’ individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Ability and willingness to reflect and improve on practice.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teachers in supporting students with IEPs in the school setting.
• Provide services and interventions directly to students under supervision of the Special Education teacher(s).
• Implement the IEP with fidelity, including 1:1 support, toileting, health-related needs, and mobility assistance as needed (with nurse supervision).
• Create and implement instructional materials accommodated/modified for individualized students.
• Regularly collaborate with IEP team members (GE teacher, Education Specialist, Speech & Language Pathologist, Instructional Aides, Administrators, Program Specialist and other service providers).
