Job summary

SANTAN JR HIGH in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Paraeducator Classroom Instructional Health Aide (ABLE) for a 6.5-hour day. The role supports students with moderate to severe disabilities under the supervision of a special education teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Additional education options include an Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours.
• CPR/First Aid certification is provided or required.
• Passing the AZ parapro exam may be needed for Title 1 schools.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students individually or in small groups under a teacher's supervision.
• Assist with personal care needs and safety measures for students with disabilities.
• Implement behavioral plans to support positive school environment.
• Support data collection and progress monitoring of IEP goals.
• Provide basic first aid and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
• Assist with emergency drills, field trips, and classroom activities.
