Bus maintenance, route management, and adherence to WV policies are essential. The position reports to the Director of Transportation and carries a 200-day term with adjustments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must obtain WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no accidents or violations.
• Must successfully complete WV School Bus Safety Program and related tests.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (100 pounds on certain buses).

Responsibilities

• Operate a bus safely and efficiently to transport students.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections.
• Learn route including pick up and drop off locations.
• Assist students with disabilities and boarding/exiting as needed.
• Maintain a clean, mechanically sound vehicle.
• Report accidents or mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Complete required paperwork and training sessions.
