Jefferson County Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Bus Operator for the midday run serving Ranson Elementary School. The role demands safe operation of school buses, adherence to routes, and supportive student interactions on a scheduled, school-day basis.

The position requires WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, a clean driving record, and ability to lift or assist students as needed. Training and compliance with state policy are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience with a licensed operator.
• Clean driving record with no accidents or violations.
• WV CDL license with passenger and school bus endorsements.
• Must complete WV School Bus Safety Program and pass requisite tests.
• Must be able to lift and assist students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate a bus safely to transport passengers to various destinations.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while driving.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Learn routes, including pick up and drop off locations.
• Assist and supervise students with disabilities.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle.
