Job summary

Poway Unified School District in San Diego County is seeking a Bus Transportation Aide to support students with disabilities during transport, loading/unloading, and daily activities. The role requires assisting with seating, safety restraints, and behavior support while ensuring safe, orderly transportation to and from school and activities.

The position offers a split shift, with mornings and afternoons, and vacancies at 30 and 37.9 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Adhere to safety practices in student transport.
• Prepare and maintain accurate student-related records.
• Operate equipment used in transporting students with special needs.
• Administer first aid when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities and other passengers loading/unloading safely.
• Support proper bus behavior and emergency procedures.
• Assist students in wheelchairs and secure seat belts and restraints.
• Maintain routine records and incident reports.
• Monitor students until released to teacher or parent.
• Determine actions in medical emergencies and administer first aid.
• Facilitate on-bus activities to support positive behavior.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
