Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Assistive Technology Facilitator (Itinerant) - TOSA (IDEA) in Houston to assess, recommend, and support assistive technology solutions for students with disabilities.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and families, provide training, prepare reports, and travel between campuses to implement technology tools and monitor progress in alignment with district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position or similar Education Degree or related certification such as speech pathologist or occupational therapist.
• Assistive Technology experience preferred.
• Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.

Responsibilities

• Assess students to determine if assistive technology would aid reading, writing, and communication or access to curriculum.
• Provide consultation and support to staff and students to identify assistive technology tools and strategies.
• Prepare written assessment reports according to district guidelines and timelines in collaboration with other professionals.
• Support the use of assistive technology through data collection and data-driven decisions.
• Adapt devices to individual student needs and serve as a resource to campuses in implementing AT solutions.
• Collaborate with instructional staff to meet student needs and participate in ARD meetings as necessary.
