Job summary

Military & Health Research Foundation (MHRF) seeks an experienced RN to provide high-quality care in the Special Care Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center, JBLM. The role handles high-acuity patients across diverse ages and conditions, with emphasis on critical care and specialized monitoring.

Candidates must meet government qualification and security requirements, hold an unrestricted RN license, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment in support of mission readiness and exceptional patient

Qualifications

• US citizen for government eligibility.
• ACEN/CCNE-accredited nursing degree required.
• Current RN license in good standing (unrestricted).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Special Care Unit within past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical and special-care nursing including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Obtain patient and family histories and document assessments, treatments, progress, admissions, and discharges.
• Monitor patients for changes including potential life-threatening situations.
• Manage patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring and central lines, IVs, chest tubes, catheters, and feeding tubes.
• Administer medications within the RN scope of practice and Five Rights.
• Verify physician orders and communicate pertinent information to physicians and charge nurses.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams and participate in nursing reports and discharge planning.
