Job summary

Qualifications

• ADN in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• BSN preferred; if ADN, enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 4 years.
• 1–2 years of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, safety standards and MedStar SPIRIT Values.
• Collects and analyzes patient information for care planning using nursing process.
• Delivers autonomous, relationship-based care and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Identifies and plans interventions for complex patient populations and trends.
• Incorporates evidence-based practice to improve quality and safety.
• Advocates for patients and communicates concerns promptly to the team.
• Initiates discharge planning and prepares patients and families for transition.
