Kent State University on the Kent Campus in Kent, OH, seeks a Special Assistant to provide specialized knowledge in higher education areas and report to a designated supervisor.

Responsibilities include coordinating programs, serving as liaison, analyzing information, and preparing reports. Occasional supervision of students or staff may be required; travel may be necessary. Must pass security checks and support a diverse, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years' relevant experience; or Associate’s degree and five years of business and/or academic experience; or seven years of business and/or academic experience.

Salary:

$42,357- $46,654

Basic Function:

To provide specialized knowledge in an area related to higher education. Reports to designated supervisor.

THIS POSITION IS INTHE OHIO EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP CENTER

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Coordinate or assist in development and implementation of a program or project. May oversee day-to-day operations of a program or project.

Serve as liaison for area of specialization; answer questions and provide advice on issues related to area of specialization.

Assist in analyzing information, conducting research and developing and preparing reports related to area of specialization.

Serve on various department, division, and University committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • FAMILIARITY WITH QUICKBOOKS, CREATING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, INVOICES, AND SIMILAR
  • FAMILIARITY WITH EVENT PLANNING, INCLUDING SCOUTING LOCATIONS; COORDINATING EVENT CONTRACTS; CHOOSING MENUS AND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS; AND RELATED TASKS.
  • FAMILIARITY WITH WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, INCLUDING MANAGING BACK-END REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT SYSTEMS, AND RELATED TASKS.
  • ABILITY TO MANAGE COMMUNICATIONS, ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES, AND RELEVANT PAPERWORK BETWEEN THE CENTER AND KENT STATE UNIVERSITY.
  • FAMILIARITY WITH CRM SOFTWARE (I.E. MAILCHIMP), SPREADSHEETS (I.E. EXCEL), AND BASIC DATABASE MANAGEMENT.
  • STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
