$67,706 - $81,392

Basic Function:

Provides strategic direction and oversight to admission counselors while leading efforts to recruit students interested in the Honorsexperience at Kent State University. Provide significant management and professional support to admitting units to ensure atransformative student experience in all recruitment efforts both on and off campus. In collaboration with colleagues in admissions, theCollege of Honors and Global Education, and across the university and community, develop innovative recruitment initiatives to supportthe enrollment goals of the institution. Reports to Director of Recruitment in the Admissions office.This position will be in-person located on the Kent Campus in Kent, OH.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Work directly with the Director of Recruitment on goal setting, strategic action plans and yield strategies to include providing advice onshort-term and long-term strategic planning activities and financial and human resource allocations.
  • Develop and implement an annual recruitment plan for responsible recruitment territories consistent with the university’s enrollment plan.
  • Model and utilize best practices of inclusive staff hiring and development, setting priorities, and daily long-term interactions withcolleagues at the university and beyond.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with colleagues in the College of Honors and Global Education, admissions, and enrollment management tosupport the recruitment and yield of honors students.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with colleagues in enrollment management and university marketing and communications to create recruitmentmessaging via direct mail, email, and social media for honors students and their influencers.
  • Develop strategic plans to include outreach, recruitment, yield and assessment for specific populations; including implementing andoverseeing recruitment programs for honors students, such as on campus visit events and off campus programs to attract applicationsand increase enrollment.
  • Serve as a territory manager for an assigned recruitment territory.
  • Travel on behalf of the University for recruitment activities and other related events.
  • Speak publicly and present information to individuals and groups on and off campus.
  • Provide and analyze information for management purposes by producing reports as needed utilizing familiarity with student databasesand using query tools.
  • Provide direct supervision of unclassified staff.
  • Serve on university, division, and department committees as appropriate.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
