Job summary

Kent State University seeks an Admissions Visit Coordinator to represent the University to prospective students, families, and school partners. You will help design on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment programs and manage guest check-in and tour guides at the Kent Campus.

The role reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and requires a Bachelor's degree and related experience, with occasional travel and evening/weekend duties.

  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Slate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement on-campus, off-campus, and online recruitment programs and events for undergrad and/or grad students.
  • Represent the University to prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, faculty, staff, and others; disseminate information.
  • Provide admissions information sessions and manage Kent Tour Center guest check-in and tour guides.

Salary: $42,357 - $46,926

Basic Function: Responsible for representing Kent State University to prospective students, their families, and school/community contacts. This position assists in the development of on-campus, off-campus, and virtual programs and activities designed to meet the needs of prospective students, families, guidance counselors, and campus partners. Reports to Associate Director of Admissions or designated administrator.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of on-campus, off-campus, and online recruitment programs and events for undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Represent the University to various internal and external constituents (e.g. prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, alumni, faculty, staff, administrative personnel); disseminate information regarding the University.
  • Provide admissions information sessions at the Kent State Tour Center to support guest check in and tour guide management.
  • Perform work on various special projects and assignments, including, but not limited to, admission publications, customer relationship management (CRM) software, communications, reporting, functions of application processing, and admission file review.
  • Travel for recruitment and related events as needed.
  • Serve as the Counselor on duty on a rotating basis responsible for taking and following up on incoming calls from prospective students, parents, and college counselors.
  • May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of Admissions Counselors, support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience.

License/Certification: Not applicable.

Knowledge Of:

  • Standard university recruiting and admissions practices
  • Sales and/or territory management techniques
  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Skill In:

  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communications; public speaking*
  • Personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite

Ability To:

  • Work in a collaborative and effective manner with students, alumni, diverse families, administrators, and faculty
  • Work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures

    Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

    • Experience in student recruitment, education advocacy, or college counseling
    • Detail-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills
    • Experience within an institution of higher education
    • Knowledge of university-specific CRM systems; preferably Slate

    Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: None.

    Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, evenings and weekends when needed
