Job summary

Rockland Trust, a full‑service commercial bank, seeks a Special Assets Officer to manage a portfolio of classified assets, including commercial real estate and ORE loans. The role emphasizes negotiating strategies to rehabilitate viable loans or maximize recovery while reducing NPAs and delinquencies.

You’ll report to the SAG Manager and work with the Chief Credit Officer, contributing to risk mitigation and performance targets within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• FormalCreditTraining required.
• 7+ years experience in servicing distressed portfolios of large commercial Real Estate loans.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain an assigned portfolio of classified assets, including commercial RE loans and ORE.
• Ensure compliance with internal, external and regulatory requirements related to problem credits.
• Perform credit administration duties: ratings, file maintenance, memorandums, status reports.
• Coordinate loan restructures with Portfolio Manager and Special Asset Committee.
• Prepare Watched Asset and Classified Asset Reports with Portfolio Manager.
• Follow up on loan delinquencies and renewals for assigned portfolio.
• Communicate with borrowers, attorneys, appraisers and other parties as needed.
