Job summary

The California Department of Justice invites applications for the Special Agent Trainee position in the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse. Based in Shasta County, the role involves on-the-job training in Medi-Cal fraud investigation and enforcement, under supervision, and handling complex investigations as part of a collaborative team.

There is a 12 Month Limited Term, full-time placement with a day shift, in-office work, and a starting salary in the range of $5,139 to $6,931 per month

Responsibilities

• On-the-job training in application of Medi-Cal fraud investigation techniques.
• Assist with complex criminal investigations and Medi-Cal provider fraud cases.
• Investigate allegations of patient abuse and neglect in care facilities.
• May perform collateral duties as necessary to support investigations.
• Duties emphasize community interaction and collaborative problem solving.
