Job summary

The U.S. Secret Service is seeking qualified individuals to join as Special Agents, performing investigations into financial crimes and providing protection for the President, Vice President, and other protectees.

Agents work nationwide and internationally across investigative and protective operations to safeguard the nation’s financial integrity and leadership. Applicants must complete rigorous training, meet stringent eligibility criteria, and be willing to relocate to various duty stations.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required to accept employment with the Secret Service.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license and be REAL ID compliant.
• Use your official name on the application as it appears on government ID.
• Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application; referral up to 40th birthday.
• Must pass drug testing and obtain Top-Secret Clearance; automatic credit check may be required.
• Must carry and use a firearm and maintain proficiency; no DV convictions unless pardoned or expunged.
• Completion of intensive training programs at FLETC and Rowley Training Center is required.
• Must sign a mobility agreement to accept assignments domestically and overseas.
• Register with Selective Service System if male and born after 1959.

Responsibilities

• Conducing complex criminal investigations into financial crimes including counterfeiting and cyber fraud.
• Providing physical protection for the President, Vice President, and other protectees.
• Designing and implementing security measures for National Special Security Events (NSSEs).
• Serve at multiple duty stations domestically and internationally as part of an elite team.
