Job summary

SPARKS/Ignite (ESS Staffing Services) seeks an Afterschool Instructor to plan and deliver engaging, hands-on enrichment at Clare Primary School, Clare Middle School, Beaverton Elementary School and Gladwin Elementary. After-school sessions run 2.75 hours per day, with 2- or 4-day weeks.

A valid teaching certificate is required; experience with K-6 students, differentiating instruction, and project-based activities is expected. A background check is mandatory and wages start at $32.60 per hour.

Work Days

After school, 2.75 hours per day (positions available are 2-days/week and 4-days/week)

Wages

$32.60 per hour

Starting Date

As soon as possible, with pre-service orientation prior to start.

Job Objective

The Afterschool Instructor will generally work with sessions of 15 students or less and will plan and deliver engaging, hands-on academic enrichment activities that align with school-day learning and support student achievement. Site leaders will assist the Afterschool Instructor in creating appropriate program session activities and projects based on student interest and program goals.

Qualifications

Valid teaching certificate required. Experience working with students in corresponding grade levels. Experience in differentiating instruction and leading project-based academic activities. Positive classroom management. As a condition of employment employee must pass a criminal background check.
