Job summary

Millard Public Schools Foundation is seeking a part-time Spark Support Staff to assist the Spark Site Coordinator in implementing and supervising on-site Spark operations during school days, non-school days and summer programming.

You will greet families, support staff, ensure safety, and help with lesson plans, activities and attendance records while following the Spark Handbook and district policies.

Qualifications

  • Desire to work with children.
  • Annual training requirements including CPR/First Aid and Prepare to Care trainings may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday 6:30-8:30am, 3:30-6:00pm (Wednesday 2:30-6:00pm) with additional hours as assigned.
  • Assist Site Coordinators in implementing and supervising daily operations.
  • Greet families and children daily and maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist in planning attendance records, lesson plans, activity plans, and menus as requested.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Site Coordinators and Spark Administration.

Our core values are at the center of everything we do:**Integrity, Mission Driven, Innovative, Gets Things Done, Positive****SUMMARY OF JOB**Support Staff are responsible for assisting Spark Site Coordinator in implementing and supervising on-site Spark operations during school day, non-school day and summer programming. The main responsibility of Spark Support Staff is to assist Site Coordinator in providing a safe, diverse and fun environment for children and staff in our before and after school programs by providing appropriate leadership, guidance, orientation, feedback, and support. Job expectations of the position are governed by the policies and procedures as stated in the MPSF Spark Employee Handbook and/or as mandated by MPSF Spark Administration and Board of Directors.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**Must be available to work Monday-Friday 6:30-8:30am, 3:30-6:00pm (Wednesday 2:30-6:00pm) including additional hours as assigned. Must also be willing to work consolidation days, it is preferred employee works during summer operations. * Establishes and maintains positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. + Greets families and children daily. + Maintains confidentiality regarding site matters. + Establish, maintains and mentors appropriate boundary behaviors.* Effectively communicates with site sponsors, children, and Spark and District staff pertaining to daily operations and general policies and procedures; offering routine support and feedback. + Uses good communication skills, both oral and written.* Assists Site Coordinators in implementing and supervising daily operations. + Demonstrates good work habits, including punctuality and attendance. + Assists site directors in developing daily and weekly attendance records, lesson plans, activity plans, and menus as requested. + Assist Site Coordinators in planning and supervising community service and family involvement activities. + Substitute at Spark sites as requested.* Attends required and elective training opportunities as mandated by Spark Administration. + Attends staff meetings as required. + Attends mandated and elective job-related training opportunities at alternate Spark sites as requested by Administration. + Fulfill necessary state licensing and in-service requirements.* Perform other duties as assigned by Site Coordinators and Spark Administration.## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS*** Demonstrates a desire and interest in working with children.* Preferred 6 months verifiable experience working with children* Annual Training Requirements of 6 hours or 12 hours depending on number of weekly hours worked.* Must complete *Pediatric CPR and First Aid* and *Prepare to Care* trainings.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*** Ability to react and move quickly.* Ability to lift, push and carry 40 lbs., sit for 30 minutes and/or stand for at least one hour.* Be able to use all fingers on both hands and have use of both legs and be able to walk 500 feet.* Have near and far vision (correctable) and depth perception.* Be able to hear sounds of all types* Ability to do the following frequently indoors and outdoors: squat, bend, crawl, reach, and kneel and otherwise fully participate in activities with children.
