Position Title: Teacher

Reports To: Building Principal

Overtime Status: Exempt

Pay Grade: 710

Job Summary: Performs professional work providing instruction and computer-assisted services in art, motivating students to develop skills in the subject, under supervision of the Principal.

Essential Duties include:

1. Facilitating art classes and motivating students;
2. Developing individualized instructional plans;
3. Instructing students in art according to state and district regulations;
4. Maintaining standards of behavior;
5. Encouraging independent thinking and original ideas;
6. Evaluating student progress and maintaining records;
7. Communicating with students, parents, and counselors;
8. Participating in professional development;
9. Supervising student movement and activities;
10. Participating in faculty committees and activities;
11. Using computer applications for administrative tasks;
12. Modeling non-discriminatory practices.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in education or a related field, valid Virginia teaching license, and 3-5 years of teaching experience.
