Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a SPARCS Facilitator to provide trauma-informed group services for youth facing stress or emotional challenges, following the SPARCS curriculum.

The role involves managing groups, documenting progress, and addressing youth needs in a structured setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Experience facilitating groups, skill-building or therapeutic style sessions preferred.
  • Prior work with youth or at-risk youth preferred.
  • Ability to manage group dynamics and maintain a safe environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to document accurately.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate groups per program curriculum and guidelines.
  • Document each youth’s progress in sessions through case notes.
  • Address the needs of youth receiving services and support their engagement.

Job description

Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: SPARCS Facilitator provides structured, trauma-informed group services to youth and adolescents experiencing stress, trauma, or emotional challenges, using the SPARCS evidence-based and program curriculum.

  • SPARCS Facilitator manages groups, including following program curriculum and guidelines and documenting each youth’s progress in the sessions through case notes.
  • SPARCS Facilitator will address the needs of the youth receiving services.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field with experience related to selected instructional topics
  • Experience providing group facilitation, skill-building sessions, or therapeutic style groups preferred
  • Prior work with youth and at-risk youth is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage group dynamics, maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, reliable, and able to maintain accurate documentation
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus
