Job summary

West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District is seeking a Spanish-Speaking Instructional Assistant (Anticipated) to support the DLI program in a West Windsor, New Jersey school. The role involves delivering instruction in Spanish, assisting the certificated teacher, and supporting student learning in elementary settings.

The position requires fluency in Spanish, high school diploma with 60 credits or ParaPro, and strong English language skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma and either 60 credits from an accredited college or university or have passed the ParaPro test.
Fluency in Spanish is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Knowledge and understanding of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering an effective instructional program.
Use the target language of the class exclusively for all instructional activities.
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher.
Assist with strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs, interests, and abilities.
Check student notebooks and supervise testing and makeup work as assigned.
Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work as assigned.
Assist with large group activities, such as mini-lessons, reading aloud, and storytelling.
Help students with clothing, snack time routine, cleanup routine, and toileting activities.
Participate in in-service training as scheduled.
Perform any other duty as assigned by the teacher or principal.
