Job summary

Westbrook Public Schools, Daisy Ingraham Elementary School, seeks a Multilingual Instructional Support Assistant to provide language support for multilingual learners, with emphasis on English and Spanish instruction and translation. Responsibilities include delivering individual and small-group instruction, offering translation and interpreter services to boost family engagement, and assisting in onboarding new students and families with limited English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree required.
• Advanced level language fluency (written and oral) in English and Spanish required.
• Additional language fluency in Portuguese is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group instruction in English and Spanish to support English language proficiency and academic skills for multilingual learners.
• Provide translation/interpreter services to increase family participation, understanding, and engagement as directed by the principal.
• Develop instructional materials in English and Spanish to support teaching and learning, and assist in onboarding new students and families with limited English proficiency.
