Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a bilingual Spanish healthcare interpreter for the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC. The role includes in-person, telephone, and video interpreting in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Requires a high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred) and 1 year of related experience. Certification is preferred; completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training Program within 1 year of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year related experience required.
• National medical interpreter certification preferred.
• 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training Program completed within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, telephone, and video interpreting in healthcare settings.
• Troubleshoot basic software/app issues as needed.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers and manage interpreter modalities to contain costs.
• Interpret patient information, education, appointments, discharge instructions and procedures.
• Educate caregivers on patient culture; act as cultural broker and follow professional conduct standards.
