Qualifications

• Completion of a medical interpreter training course aligned with national standards.
• Completion of Spanish bilingual assistant or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Provide bilingual interpretation (English and foreign language) between patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interpretation activities.
• Participate in department/hospital educational programs to maintain skills and competencies.
• Collaborate with Translator to identify documents requiring translation (consents, discharge info).
• Refer psychosocial issues to social work or family-centered care departments as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
