Job summary

Intermountain Health’s West Valley Clinic is seeking a part-time Medical Interpreter to coordinate and deliver interpretation and translation services across facilities and virtual services.

The schedule is 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 32 hours per week, with pay range $22.98–$35.00 hourly. The role requires ILR Level 3 proficiency and completion of a 40-hour professional interpreter course, with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pre-hire skills assessment completed.
• Excellent oral and written command of both source and target language(s) with ILR Level 3 or equivalent.
• Performs consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation with high accuracy in both languages.
• Fast-paced, high-pressure environment capable.
• Certificate of completion from a 40-hour Professional Medical Interpreter course.

Responsibilities

• Interpret medical and general information with high accuracy across modes.
• Interpret complex medical information with terminology knowledge.
• Act as cultural mediator with intercultural communication.
• Adhere to ethics and HIPAA standards.
• Manage time, respond promptly, provide ETA for assignments.
• Use computer and software for research, data entry, and record-keeping.
• Translate written material maintaining meaning and localization.
