Qualifications

• Must pass language assessment screening and demonstrate prior medical interpreter experience.
• Desire 2-4 year degree in language interpreting or linguistic field and/or degree in a clinical field.
• Completion of a 40-hour medical interpreter training program and passing score on examination.

Responsabilités

• Respond to interpreter needs to ensure accurate communication between LEP patients and healthcare providers.
• Provide language interpretation in coordination with the patient’s care plan.
• Offer guidance to staff interpreters and contracted agency interpreters; teach about interpreter services.
