About The Role

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients through inbound calls within a dynamic call center environment. Your primary responsibilities will include answering customer inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and building strong relationships with clients and agents. You will handle a variety of service requests such as processing payments, managing billing account changes, and addressing complex policy-related questions. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform multiple tasks accurately. The role is remote, and reliable internet connectivity is essential. The level of the position will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Security Mutual Life supports remote work in several states, including NY, TX, PA, FL, NC, NJ, IN, AL, MA, MN, OH, GA, and AZ, providing opportunities for candidates outside the immediate vicinity of Binghamton, NY.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customer Service
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in the insurance industry or call center environment
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload
  • Flexible schedule with availability for occasional overtime

Responsibilities

  • Support resolution of incoming calls by answering questions, performing research, and initiating additional processes as necessary
  • Process billing requests including account number changes, payment mode changes, refunds, premium payment histories, and policy rejections
  • Handle manual premium payments and other service requests via check or phone transactions from checking or savings accounts
  • Process loan requests received over the phone
  • Respond to inquiries related to Security Mutual Life website and handle inquiries forwarded by Corporate Communications
  • Complete insurance verifications and policy summary requests for clients
  • Conduct follow-up calls to obtain missing items or funds needed to update policies
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions for tracking and quality assurance
