Job summary

MedStar Health Harbor Hospital seeks a bilingual interpreter to support gynecology and mammography visits. The role involves English/Spanish interpretation, helping with registration, and escorting patients between departments in a per diem capacity.

Availability is Monday and Thursday during the day shift. No benefits or PTO are offered for this PRN position. Strong communication skills and basic computer use are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals adheres to policies and safety standards.

• Collects and places consent forms in patient charts.
• Communicates appointment details and no-shows with staff and patients.
• Participates in meetings and service-improvement teams.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Interprets for Spanish speaking patients in various hospital departments with simple instruction.
• Assists with paperwork forms and demographic information.
• Escorts patients between departments.
• Assists with and collects program consent form. Places forms in patient chart.
• Communicates with patients and staff for patient appointment tardiness and no show.
• Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.l>l>
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Prior work experience not required

Licenses and Certifications

• Qualified Bilingual Staff Level 1 (or other similar certification) required within 1 Year required and
• No special registration or licensure required

Knowledge Skills And Abilities

This position has a hiring range of USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
