AgUpdate is seeking a Spanish interpreter for a full-time role in Sioux City, IA. The interpreter will provide translation during clinical visits, ensuring clear communication between non-English speaking patients and medical staff.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with intake forms, supporting social service intake, and traveling to local agencies or hospitals to provide interpreting services as needed.

Competenze

• Fluent bilingual communication in Spanish and English required.
• Basic computer and data entry skills are required.
• Knowledge of cultural barriers to medical care and ability to diminish barriers on patients' behalf.
• Knowledge of medical terminology in Spanish and English.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous interpreting experience preferred.

INTERPRETER - SPANISH Fulltime position - Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm

Successful candidate must have solid experience & advanced knowledge of:

• Fluency in verbal, reading and written bilingual communication skills - Spanish & English
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Knowledge of cultural barriers to medical care and ability to diminish barriers on the patients' and SCHC's behalf
• Knowledge of medical terminology in Spanish and in English
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience interpreting preferred

Successful candidate must be able to perform primary functions of position:

• Provide translation services and support the non-English speaking patients and their families during their clinical visit
• Works directly with medical staff to ensure accurate communication and understanding between patient and staff
• Assists patients in completing all necessary intake forms at initial visit, including but not limited to, demographic and medical history, and financial verification
• Assists social service worker and patient in completing the social service intake process
• Travel to local agencies or hospitals to provide interpreting services as needed
