Job summary

Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Spanish in the World Languages and Cultures Department. This part-time, on-site role typically teaches 3–6 credits per semester, with classes conducted in person at the West Long Branch campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Spanish, Hispanic or Latin American Studies, Romance Languages, Education, Literature, Linguistics, or Educational Leadership, or a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with a concentration in Spanish.
• Previous experience in teaching classes of Spanish.
• Familiarity with communicative method of language teaching and student-centered learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3–6 credits during the semester.
• Develop and implement engaging class lessons aligned with curriculum and objectives.
• Hold in-person office hours (1 hour per 3-credit class) during the week.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment and support student engagement and success.
• Administer projects, exams and other assessments and provide timely grades.
• Provide timely feedback and guidance to students.
