Job summary

Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Latin in the World Languages and Cultures Department. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position at the West Long Branch campus.

As a part-time adjunct faculty member, you will teach 3–6 credits per semester, develop engaging lessons, hold office hours, and provide timely feedback. Screening begins when positions become available and you will be notified via email with next steps.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Latin or Classics or a MAT with a concentration in Latin.
• Familiar and experienced in the communicative method of language teaching with student-centered learning.
• Previous experience teaching Latin and availability to teach during the day.
• Familiarity with World Language technologies and online learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3–6 credits during the semester in person.
• Develop and implement engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and objectives.
• Hold office hours (1 hour per 3-credit class) and provide timely feedback and grades.
• Coordinate with the course coordinator to ensure syllabus consistency and assessments.
