The Curriculum Design Expert will research, author, and support development of high school Spanish content, collaborating with the Curriculum Director and Project Managers to shape course structure, materials, and assessment tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education and/or in Spanish (specialization or certification in Spanish language preferred).
  • Strong Spanish linguistic skills and understanding of Spanish Language Pedagogy.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (Spanish: Advanced- Low or higher preferred).
  • Spanish language teaching experience (US high school experience preferred).
  • Spanish language curriculum design and development is required.
  • Knowledge of ACTFL World-Readiness Standards, Bloom’s taxonomy, and UDL principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing support to the team and stakeholders by identifying requirements for developing robust online, high school Spanish courses as part of World Languages curriculum.
  • As a Curriculum Design Expert, you will focus on research, analysis, solving critical challenges, and providing solutions based on your expertise.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Director/Project Managers to identify, recommend, and author course format, standards, prerequisites, and pedagogy.
  • Create reports/presentations with the above information.

Job description

LearningMate helps K-12 organizations create digital content that is personalized, accessible, and engaging. The eLearning team you will be working with is responsible for creating and deploying high-quality learning experiences for U.S. K-12 students for a public, virtual charter school.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in education and/or in Spanish (specialization or certification in Spanish language preferred)
  • Strong Spanish linguistic skills and understanding of Spanish Language Pedagogy
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (Spanish: Advanced- Low or higher preferred)
  • Spanish language teaching experience (US high school experience preferred)
  • Spanish language curriculum design and development is required
  • Knowledge of ACTFL World-Readiness Standards, Bloom’s taxonomy, and UDL principles preferred

Teaching Experience: min. 5 to 7 years.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in curriculum design, scope and sequence development, curriculum writing, assessment writing, quality online course and academic standards alignment, accessibility compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
Preferred Experience:

Present or past Spanish course design and development of content for an online provider.

As a Curriculum Design Expert, you will focus on research, analysis, solving critical challenges, and providing solutions based on your expertise. You will be working with the Curriculum Director, and/or Project Managers to conduct research and provide support related, but not limited to, identifying, recommending, and authoring:

  • course format and structure;
  • standards bodies, learning goals, and required course materials and resources;
  • prerequisites that students may require for the target course;
  • desired student experience for the course and overall pedagogy;
  • course units, topics, and lessons; and
  • assessment (traditional and performance-based tasks) and projects.

You will also create reports/presentations, including but not limited to the above information.
