Job summary

Indian Prairie Community Unit School District is seeking a part-time Bilingual Teaching Assistant (Spanish) to support identified students in a bilingual classroom setting at Longwood Elementary School. This 0.8 FTE position requires Spanish proficiency and a strong commitment to student growth.

You will plan and deliver instruction in English and Spanish, monitor student progress, communicate with families, and collaborate with teachers to implement bilingual curriculum.

Qualifications

• Must speak Spanish.
• Experience assisting in bilingual classrooms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan and instruct students on curriculum in self-contained classrooms.
• Provide instruction in English or designated second language as appropriate.
• Interact with students by speaking fluently in English and Spanish.
• Conduct screenings to determine eligibility for bilingual program.
• Set high expectations and monitor student progress.
• Maintain records and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success.
• Communicate with parents regarding progress and involve them in monitoring progress.
• Collaborate with other teachers to plan, accommodate, implement and assess lessons.
